The food can be thrilling, especially the starters, where French tradition gets reworked with confidence and flair. It's not flawless, but it aims higher than anywhere else in the city right now. The wine list is equally bold, packed with a lot of gems, not cheap, but with lots of quality.
This is the some of the most ambitious French kitchen Berlin has seen in years, and while it's still finding its stride, Mastan is already one of the best French restaurants in Berlin.
Do not jump straight to the mains, the appetizers are the stars of the show.
